The major project of "Research on Major Civilizations in World History: Comparison, Interactions and Mutual Learning" is a major project of National Social Science Fund of China, and Prof. Liu Jinghua served as chief expert.
Prof. Bai Xuejun, director Wang Qingjie,Prof. Hou Jianxin, as well as Prof. Gu Yanfang , along with members of the project team and over 70 teachers from the IEC and History and Culture College attended the meeting.
Prof. Liu Jinghua presented the research plan, which is divided into four sub-projects: ontology, comparison, interactions and mutual learning of major civilizations in world history. Prof. Guo Xiaoling from Beijing Normal University, Prof. Chen Zhiqiang and Prof. Yang Dongliang from Nankai University, and Prof. Peng Xiaoyu from Peking University highly praised the project for its significant academic value and practical significance. They noted that the project's ambitious topics and wide horizons. They also acknowledged that the research team was well-constituted and possessed strong research capabilities. The project proposal was then unanimously approved. The experts provided valuable suggestions, including how to establish connections between the sub-projects, achieve theoretical innovation, and grasp accuracy in detail while standing a macro perspective.
