Research Interests
I personally research the history of Western civilization by analyzing the interaction between religion and society. Firstly, I focus on the Jewish civilization of the Second Temple period. During this period, Jewish civilization had deep interaction with civilizations such as Egypt, Greece, and Rome. One of the most important results is the interaction between Jewish civilization and Greek civilization in Roman Empire, which gave birth to Christianity and Rabbinic Judaism. Then I focus on the issue of church reform in Western Europe during the 11th century. The unique historical experience of the Western Europe in the 10th century has brought the Christianization in Western Europe into a new era. The Monastic Reform, the Peace of God Movement and the reform of Papacy, all these trends of changing gradually gathered to reach the climax in the Papal Revolution and made a unique historical contribution to the separation of sanctity and power in Western civilization.
